Cummins 6B Engines
Precision Engine Services received two Cummins 6B engines in for a full rebuild.
These engines are both fitted to a marine vessel, and works on a fish farm on the West Coast of Scotland.
The engines were fully stripped, inspected and overhauled.
One of the engines was already at maximum bore size and required additional boring and repair liners fitted to bring it back to standard size. Surface skimmed.
Cylinder heads were fully overhauled including new valves, springs, seals, etc. The heads were both machined to accept valve guides as there are none fitted from standard.
Fuel pumps overhauled and new nozzled fitted to the injectors. New oil pump and bearings fitted. All new gaskets, seals and head bolts supplied and fitted.
Test run on site and painted as per customer's request to Cummins spec.
